In 1987, John Bening founded Bening Motor Company, the first dealership in what would later become “the stepping stone".  With time and experience, it became evident that expansion to different locations offering a larger inventory with a variety of makes and models was necessary.  This culminated in the formation of what is considered “the parent company”, Bening Automotive Group.  John, along with managing members, Michael Schumer and Chad Strattman, have built upon the foundation that ”complete customer satisfaction” is a top priority and goal of all Bening Automotive Group dealerships.

Today, Bening Automotive Group has grown and continues to look for opportunities to grow. Currently, we offer an extensive inventory with a large variety of makes and models and in a variety of locations. We have three franchise dealerships, Bening Mazda in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Bening Ford in Fredericktown, Missouri and Bening Ford of Perryville in Perryville, Missouri. We also have one independent dealership, Bening Motor Company of Jackson in Jackson, Missouri.
